No specific lunch spot, but during the hike you will come across hundreds of spots where you can quietly eat your lunch in combination with a beautiful view.
Let's start with this: This walk is not for softies. It looks like a simple walk around a lake, but it is not! It is constantly going up and down and chances are that -like us- the legs will get sour, but the beautiful views and wild nature make it all worth it. Small note: There is no alternative hiking route to shorten it. So be sure to take enough supplies with you.
The start of this beautiful hike is at the Nisramont dam, it's 16 metres high and 116 metres long and it has a hydroelectric power station and a water purification plant attached to it.
We have chosen to do the hike the other way around, as it was quite early on a fresh sunny day and if you start the hike along the western side of the valley you can enjoy the sunshine all morning.
Stairs, small bridges and many climbs and descents are on the programme. Here and there, you will also come across information boards about the underwater world.
We were there on a dry day, but we suspect that the various paths will be muddy when it rains, so be sure to wear good footwear.
Definitely recommended: after this challenging hike, go to le Hérou which is a 10min drive, not for hiking (at least that's possible), but we enjoyed a fresh beer with appetizers and off course a beautiful view.
